MILFORD-Sally Ann Lombardo, 73, died in the early morning hours of September 8, 2016. She was born January 1, 1943 in Laconia, NH a daughter of Edward and Sophie (Berzinis) Knight.
Sally was a proud US Army veteran having served as a field nurse during the Viet Nam War. Following her Army service, she returned to New England and had five children. A very dedicated mother, she served the role of the dual parent, showing her children the way of the woods and teaching them to hunt and fish. She also served as Den Mother to their cub scout packs. Sally was an accomplished artist, enjoying painting the most. She often found inspiration at her favorite spot, Schoodic Point, and the salt air of the Atlantic Ocean blowing in her face. She owned and operated a restaurant in Vermont for many years where she was a member of the American Legion Post in Waterbury, VT. However, her true calling was caring for people, and soon she returned to nursing and worked on the children's unit at Acadia Hospital.
She is survived by her five children Pete Lombardo of Stetson, Frank Lombardo of VT, Valerie Lombardo of Levant, Bob Lombardo and his wife Stephanie of Milford, and Tony Lombardo of Glenburn; six grandchildren Miranda Tilton, Zach Buck, Brandon Lombardo, Ricky Lombardo, Bobby Lombardo and Anthony Lombardo; brother Paul Knight of CO, and sister Gail Tunstead of Orono; several nieces and nephews, She was predeceased by her brother Brain Knight.
